Children's Ministry
Welcome to South Tampa Fellowship! We are delighted to welcome your children to our ministry department. We are committed to partnering with parents to teach God’s word in a way that children understand it and apply it to their lives. We consistently use creative methods including puppets, drama, high-energy music, crafts, and large/small group discussions to reinforce the tenants of our faith which we believe God has called us to emphasize. If you have specific questions about any of our ministry offerings, please contact us.

Vacation Bible School
Awana
Wednesday Evening, Ballast Point Campus
Now through October 15, 2008
The Children’s Ministry team at South Tampa Fellowship searches for programs that provide the solid foundation that kids need in order to grow up to become adults who know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why we’re excited that Awana Clubs are now rotating in 6-month intervals with Kids Praise as part of our Wednesday night ministry line up. Read More
STF is officially registered with Awana Clubs International. Awana is a non-denominational organization whose purpose is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. We are excited about reaching STF members, as well as families in the Ballast Point community who don’t have a church home, or who attend other churches that do not provide Wednesday night children’s ministries.
Parent participation is appreciated and encouraged as our faithful volunteers partner with families to see kids grow in Christ and in their knowledge God’s Word. Just a few minutes of club concepts reinforced every day at home will make an eternal difference! Our Awana Club meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:15. New clubbers ages PK3 through fifth grade are welcome to attend! See the attached schedule for room locations.
Sunday School
Sunday Morning, Ballast Point campus
Come be a part of a small group just for kids! Infants and toddlers are introduced to the Bible and begin learning how to praise God through our “Baby Church” curriculum. Preschoolers are taught about God’s creation from Standard Publishing’s “Heart Shapers” materials. Kindergarteners and first graders are introduced to the character and nature of God while second and third graders learn about the Patriarchs, and the inspiration and infallibility of scripture. Fourth graders at 11:00 have the opportunity to be a part of Beth Moore’s “Jesus, the One and Only,” Josh McDowell’s “Truth Works,” and Larry Burkett’s “Money Matters for Kids” in-depth bible studies. Our fifth graders are learning to grapple with life issues through “Grapple,” attention-grabbing preteen Bible lessons that prompt kids to dig into the Bible for answers; plus they get their very own safe and secure online community to connect with each other and their Bible Study teachers. Click here for more information about this innovative tool we’re using in our preteens’ classes. Whatever your age, we’ve got some great materials and some amazing teachers who are ready to help you learn about God and how He can make a difference in your life!

Autumn Fest is STF’s family night on Friday, October 31 celebrated at Ballast Point Elementary School. Our goal is to provide a safe, Halloween alternative for children and adults – “all the fun without the fright.” Join us for an enjoyable evening of candy, prizes, fabulous food, mid-way games, inflatables, costume contests and more.
Girl Talk
“Girl Talk” is a one-hour discipleship group that meets for six Monday nights during the fall and spring semesters just for 3rd through 5th grade girls. Here, girls learn about unity in the body of Christ, spiritual blessings, the armor of God and how to live like wise women in a verse-by-verse, fun, discussion-style format. This past spring semester small group study centered on the New Testament book of James. "Girl Talk" will not meet during the summer but will resume in the fall. We begin promptly at 6:30 PM and dismiss by 7:30 PM. There is no registration fee and materials are provided for you. Each girl should bring her Bible, a pencil, and an open heart to each session. You may register by sending an email or by calling the church office. If you would like more information, please contact us.
Mom2Mom
Mom to Mom is a ministry for moms of all ages with children of all ages. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at our Ballast Point campus-fellowship hall. Each month a speaker encourages us with God’s word and practical insight on different topics and we enjoy a time of fellowship with one another. There is no childcare provided. If you would like to be added to our email database, or have any questions about this ministry please contact us.
Baby Dedications
Our baby dedications are held every other month on the second Sunday beginning in January. They are held at the beginning of the 9:00 and 10:30 services and are an opportunity to dedicate yourselves as parents, present your child to the congregation, and have our pastor pray a prayer of blessing over your child and you as parents. Your church family will commit to coming along side you to partner with you as you dedicate yourselves to raise your child for Him. Please email us in order to be placed on the schedule at least a month prior to your desired dedication date. The dates for 2008 are January 13, March 9, May 11, July 13, September 14, and November 9.
