Children's Ministry

Welcome to Pier 3:16, South Tampa Fellowship’s Children’s Ministry!  We are excited to watch children discover who God is and grow in their personal relationship with Christ.    We are determined to synchronize the church and parents in order to make a greater impact on children for Christ.

Awana Wednesday Evenings, Ballast Point Campus Beginning April 7, 2010

The Children's Ministry team at South Tampa Fellowship searches for programs that provide the solid foundation that kids need in order to grow up to become adults who know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. That's why we're excited that Awana Clubs are now rotating in 6-month intervals with Kids Praise as part of our Wednesday night ministry lineup.
STF is officially registered with Awana Clubs International, a non-denominational organization whose purpose is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. We are excited about reaching STF members as well as families in the Ballast Point community who don't have a church home, or who attend other churches that do not provide Wednesday-night children's ministries.
Parental participation is appreciated and encouraged as our faithful volunteers partner with families to see kids grow in Christ and in their knowledge God's Word. Just a few minutes of club concepts reinforced every day at home will make an eternal difference! Our Awana Club meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:15. New clubbers ages PK3 through fifth grade are welcome to attend! See the Document Downloads for schedule and room locations.

Girl Talk

"Girl Talk" is a one-hour discipleship group that meets for six Monday nights during the fall and spring semesters just for third- through fifth-grade girls. Girls learn about unity in the body of Christ, spiritual blessings, the armor of God, and how to live like wise women in a verse-by-verse, fun, discussion-style format. This past spring semester's small-group study centered on the New Testament book of James. "Girl Talk" does not meet during the summer but resumes in the fall. We begin promptly at 6:30 PM and dismiss by 7:30 PM. There is no registration fee, and materials are provided. Each girl should bring her Bible, a pencil, and an open heart to each session. You may register by sending an email or by calling the church office. If you would like more information, please contact the children's department.

Special-Needs Ministry

If your family is blessed with a special-needs child and you would like assistance caring for him or her during Sunday morning services and/or Wednesday night activities, please drop by the children's welcome desk at Pier 3:16 and pick up an application for a Special Need "Buddy." The Buddy System is our way of including special needs children in the life of our church. Your child will be paired up with a buddy who will assist him or her during STF ministry activities -- Sunday school, Kids Praise, or Awana. The Buddy System not only benefits the special-needs child but also enables the child's parents and siblings to attend their own Sunday school classes and/or worship services. Baby Dedications

Baby dedications take place the second Sunday of every other month, beginning in January. They are conducted at the beginning of the 9:00 and 10:30 services, and are an opportunity to dedicate yourselves as parents, present your child to the congregation, and have our pastor pray a blessing over your child and you as parents. Your church family will commit to coming alongside you to partner with you as you dedicate yourselves to raise your child for Him. Please email us in order to be placed on the schedule at least a month prior to your desired dedication date. Dedication is for STF members.

The dates for 2010 are April 18 - July 11 - October 3.
