Cassie was born and raised in the small town of Whiting, Maine. She grew up in a Christian home and became a believer at age 5. She lived in the same house all her life, until she decided to attend Clearwater Christian College here in Florida. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2006. Cassie enjoys the beach and spending time with her friends. She has always enjoyed children and is excited to have the opportunity to work in the Children’s Ministry at STF. Cassie has been working at STF since November 2009.

Teresa was born and raised in Tampa, and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1992 with a B.S. in Business Administration. Growing up in a Christian home, she accepted Jesus at the age of 7, and has been attending STF with her husband, Kelly Nielsen, since its start in 1995. Working with Kelly in the Graphic Arts department, she serves as a writer and publication designer, producing The Buzz (our monthly magazine), the weekly Shoreline, and various other items. She also maintains our social media and email news. Recently, she has been leading the Global Media Outreach ministry at STF, as well as other short-term projects under our missions pastor Kelly Green.

Karen McClure, midweek coordinator: Karen is a Florida native, born in Daytona Beach and a Tampa resident since 1966. She graduated from Robinson High School and attended the University of Florida. Though exposed to Jesus most of her life and pursued by Him for years, Karen credits her sweet husband, Steve, with bringing her to a fellowship of believers where she finally truly understood her need for a Savior. She and Steve have one daughter, Maggie. Karen enjoys reading and cross-stitching.

Heather Agee, preschool coordinator: Heather was raised in a military family, moving frequently throughout her childhood. After high school in Italy, she headed to the University of Florida, where she earned bachelor and graduate degrees in elementary education. While living in North Carolina, Heather attended a Bible study after several persistent invitations from her twin sister. God used that study of His Word and the women she encountered there to create a desire for a relationship with Jesus. Heather has been married to her husband Jeff for 13 years. They have two children: a son, Tilden, and a daughter, Charlotte. Heather enjoys couponing and sitting on her porch swing to watch the squirrels and birds. She would love to chat with you about your preschooler and the program at STF.

Ruby Sugar, children’s coordinator, Davis Islands Campus: Ruby grew up in South Tampa, moved away when she married, then moved back after living in South Carolina and Chicago. She has three grown children, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter! Ruby was raised a Christian and passionately loved God; however, her marriage led her in another direction, and she spent a decade as the youth director for a local synagogue. God remained faithful, and Jesus patiently waited for her to realize her longing and need for Him back in her life. Although Ruby has been an active member of STF and participated in a number of mission trips, it was not until leaving a 20-year corporate career that God directed her back to her true life-song to the Lord – working with children!

Family: I married Brittany on November 1, 2008. We met at singles conference in Daytona hosted by this church. She is getting her doctorate at USF, so she has the brains in the family. Unfortunately for me, she also has the beauty. I have been a member of this church working with students since 2001.
